Hello! My name is Cari Cockrell and I am the principal at Chisholm Trail. I have spent the last five years in Sanger as an assistant principal and I am excited to continue my career in this amazing community as a school leader. I began my career in education in 1993, teaching art in Little Elm. After teaching fourth grade and second grade, I "retired" to take care of my young boys. I returned to the classroom in Denton in 2003, and taught kindergarten, fourth grade and kindergarten again until 2014. Early education experiences impact children's lives in a powerful way and I love being part of those experiences.
Before I received my teaching degree, I enjoyed cold, snowy winters in Illinois, moved to Texas when I was 10, graduated from Denton High School and then attended TWU. Right after I received my bachelor's degree, I married my awesome husband. We were soon blessed with three bouncing baby boys and enjoyed watching them grow into the amazing young men they are now. In between the boys' athletic events and teaching, I earned my master's degree in Educational Administration from TWU. My family and I moved from Denton to Sanger in 2011 and love being a part of the Sanger community.
This spring, we added two long awaited members into our family, a beautiful daughter and a handsome son who will be attending Sanger High School this fall. We will add a daughter-in-law this fall, too. Family is important to me and I am honored and blessed to serve your family by leading our school to educate your children. I believe all children can learn and I promise to lead our school in a way that best meets the needs of all children. We need your help on this journey and I look forward to working alongside of you. Please let me know how things are going this year and how I can help you and your child. We are looking forward to a fantastic year full of learning for everyone. Together, we will accomplish amazing things!
