I am excited to be a part of Sanger ISD as the assistant principal for Chisholm Trail Elementary. I began my career in education in 1993, teaching art in Little Elm. After teaching fourth grade and second grade, I "retired" to take care of my young boys. I returned to the classroom in Denton in 2003, and taught kindergarten, fourth grade and kindergarten again until 2014. Early education experiences impact children's lives in a powerful way and I love being part of those experiences.
Before I received my teaching degree, I enjoyed cold snowy winters in Illinois, moved to Texas when I was 10, graduated from Denton High School and then attended TWU. Right after I received my bachelor's degree, I married my awesome husband. We were soon blessed with three bouncing baby boys and enjoyed watching them grow into the amazing young men they are now. In between the boys' athletic events and teaching, I earned my master's degree in Educational Administration from TWU. My family and I moved from Denton to Sanger in 2011 and love being a part of the Sanger community.
My goal in serving as an assistant principal in Sanger is to assist the principals to empower all stakeholders, such as parents and teachers, to equip children as they become independent learners. I also want to help create and maintain a safe and inviting environment for learning. We all have a part in educating our children. I hope you will join us in this endeavor!
