School History

Chisholm Trail Elementary opened its doors in 1987 as an EE through 3rd grade campus. When Tenderfoot Primary opened its doors, Sanger ISD moved Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten from Chisholm Trail (CTE) to Tenderfoot Primary. CTE became a 1st through 3rd grade campus.

 

Butterfield Elementary opened its doors in 2008 due to the growth in Sanger. Butterfield Elementary (BES) opened as a Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade campus. Tenderfoot Primary closed as a Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten campus and Pre-Kindergarten was moved to BES and Kindergarten was moved back to CTE. CTE's 3rd grade was moved to Clear Creek Intermediate which became a 3rd through 5th grade campus. CTE served Kindergarten through 2nd grade students until the 2019-2020 school year when Pre-Kindergarten was added.
