Exciting News! The Purple Bus Adventures Continue!
Since 2008, our beloved mobile library has been cruising around town, spreading the joy of reading to students everywhere. And guess what? We're back on the road with a fresh new look!
Despite the challenges thrown our way by COVID-19, we're thrilled to announce that the Purple Bus is back in action, thanks to the incredible support of Bounds Paint Co Inc. A massive shoutout to owner Billy Art Bounds and Jim Last, both proud Sanger ISD alumni, for making our dream of a brand-new paint job a reality!
Our purpose remains the same: to ignite a love for reading in young minds. At each stop, students can hop on board the Purple Bus and browse through a treasure trove of books, choosing up to four to take home and enjoy.
So keep your eyes peeled and your excitement high because the Purple Bus is coming to a neighborhood near you! Let's continue spreading the joy of reading one book at a time.
Purple Bus Fundraiser- Have Your Child’s Cute Picture on the Side of the Bus!
The Sanger Lions Club is excited to announce a special fundraiser to support the Sanger ISD Purple Bus Mobile Library. We are seeking enthusiastic Purple Bus Adventurer Champions who would love the unique opportunity to have their picture featured on the Purple Bus alongside a group of kids from their school. This exciting event will help raise funds to maintain and operate the Purple Bus, a valuable resource that brings library services directly to students throughout the district.
To enter the contest/drawing, go to the Purple Bus Fundraiser link below or scan the QR code, purchase a donation ticket or as many tickets as you wish from your child's school, and enter their name on the ticket. Ticket sales are open from August 22nd through September 27th. The winning tickets from the contest will be drawn at each school on October 2nd. The Champions’ photos will be taken on October 8th.
Three winners from each school will have their pictures prominently displayed on the Purple Bus for two years. The Purple Bus will make its first appearance with the new Champions’ photos at the Sanger Sellabration on October 26th!
Look for the Purple Bus around town at various events such as the Sanger Sellabration, Summer School, and the college and career fair!
